About the game
Arena Fighters is a pixel-art fighting game you can play in the browser, with twelve fighters who each play differently: balanced Kaito, heavyweight Brutus, fast Vex, acrobatic Luna, fire mage Ignis and more. Every fight is best of 3 rounds, and you can take on the computer in a tournament or call a friend for a duel on the same keyboard.
Each fighter has a punch, a kick, a projectile on the special button and a second special of their own, such as Kaito's Dragon Punch, Brutus's Charge or Nox's Trap. Punch and kick combos, attacks followed by specials, throws, parry-based defense and a super meter that fills as you land hits give plenty of depth to anyone who wants to learn.
In 1-player mode the tournament has three fights: two opponents in a row and, in the final, the first of them back as the Champion at a higher difficulty. Only wins score points, and the sum of your tournament points is your final result. Curious about each fighter's story? Read the lore of the Floating Arena.

How to play
- Player 1: A and D walk (double-tap a direction to dash), W jumps, S crouches, F is the punch, G is the kick, H throws the special and T uses special 2.
- Player 2 in the local duel: left and right arrows walk, up arrow jumps, down arrow crouches, J is the punch, K the kick, L the special and I special 2.
- In 1-player mode you can also use the arrow keys and J, K, L and I, which do the same as F, G, H and T.
- To defend, hold the direction away from your opponent. A quick tap backward just as a hit lands performs a parry, which stuns the attacker.
- Punch, punch, kick chains a combo. Punch and kick together make a throw, and special plus special 2 together unleash the super once the meter is full.
- Each round lasts 60 seconds. You win a round by emptying the other fighter's health or by having more health when time runs out, and a fight goes to whoever wins 2 rounds.
- On the selection screen, click a fighter, pick the mode and difficulty with the buttons, then start with Fight or the Enter key.

Rex, the cyborg
Game modes
- 1 player. A three-fight tournament against the computer on Easy, Normal or Hard. Only wins score points, and losing a fight ends the tournament with what you have already earned.
- 2 players. A two-player duel on the same keyboard: each player picks a fighter and plays a best-of-3 fight, with no tournament points.

Mirage, the illusionist
Kuma, the sumo wrestler
Tips
- Fighters differ a lot in health: Brutus can take far more damage than Vex, who makes up for it with speed and quick moves.
- Throws cannot be blocked standing or crouching. If you get grabbed, press punch and kick together right away to try to break free.
- The super meter fills as you land hits, so taking risks on offense pays off more than just defending.
- Obsidiana's parry window is larger than the other fighters', and her special 2 returns the hit that lands while she is in the counter stance.
- Zefira is the only fighter who can jump twice and dash in mid-air, which helps dodge projectiles and attack from above.

Frequently asked questions
How many fighters are there and can I pick all of them?
There are twelve fighters: Kaito, Brutus, Vex, Luna, Ignis, Rex, Mirage, Kuma, Zefira, Obsidiana, Volt and Nox. Each has their own moves, projectile, two specials and super.
How is the tournament scored?
Each win is worth 1000 points, plus up to 500 for remaining health, 5 per second left and 300 if you did not lose a round. The total is multiplied by 0.6 on Easy, 1 on Normal and 1.5 on Hard.
Can two people play on the same keyboard?
Yes. In local 2-player mode player 1 uses A, D, W, S, F, G, H and T, and player 2 uses the arrow keys plus J, K, L and I. The duel does not earn tournament points.
Does it work on a phone?
The game controls are keyboard-based, so it is designed for computers. The fighter selection accepts clicks, but during a fight you need a keyboard.
