About the game

Brick Breaker is an arcade game you can play in your browser: you move a paddle at the bottom of the screen to bounce the ball and destroy all the colorful bricks at the top. There are 40 bricks arranged in 5 rows of 8, and you have 3 lives.

Each brick destroyed is worth 10 points, so clearing the whole board gives 400. The ball's direction depends on where it hits the paddle: in the center it goes straight up, near the edges it leaves at an angle. For another similar classic, try Pong.

How to play

1. Move the paddle with the left and right arrows (or A and D) or with the mouse over the game.
2. With the ball resting on the paddle, press Space or click to launch it.
3. Bounce the ball with the paddle so it does not fall past the bottom.
4. Each lost ball costs one of your 3 lives, and the next one returns to the paddle waiting to be launched.
5. Destroy all 40 bricks to win; with no lives left, the game ends.

Game modes

• 1 player. One player, a single level with 40 bricks and 3 lives. You win by clearing every brick.

Tips

• Hit with the edge of the paddle to send the ball at an angle and reach the corners.
• With the mouse the paddle follows the pointer directly, which helps with precise hits.
