About the game
Last Piece 2 is the sequel to the chessboard strategy game in the style of Shotgun King, to play in the browser. You are the psycho king with a shotgun against the black army, and each stage ends when the black king falls.
The rules are those of Last Piece: each turn you move the king one square, shoot or reload, and then the black army moves one piece. The shot fans out in a cone and damage falls with distance, from 10 point-blank down to 1 farther away. There are 64 stages, and the novelty is all around it: a title screen, its own menu, animated attacks and upgrades in the form of cards.
Each black piece strikes in its own way: the knight leaps with a lance, the bishop calls light from the sky, the queen slaps and the rook cracks the floor. When a piece falls, it explodes. You can speed the animation up with F or skip it with Space, and there is a reduce motion option.
After each stage you clear you pick a card from those offered, from a catalog of 265 cards across four rarities: common, rare, epic and legendary. They affect damage, ammo, range, defense, mobility and health, and some charge a price in return for power. Scoring follows the first game's rule and goes to the leaderboard when the run ends.

How to play
- Click or tap a highlighted square next to the king to walk one square; the arrow keys also move the king.
- To shoot, press T or use the shoot button, pick the direction with the arrows or the mouse and confirm with Enter. The cone shows the damage before you fire.
- Reloading (R key) uses your turn and returns shells. With no shells, you can only move or reload.
- Eliminate the black king to clear the stage, then pick a card with keys 1 to 4, the arrows and Enter, the mouse or touch.
- Esc opens the pause menu, F speeds up the animations and Space skips the animation in progress.
- The pause lets you continue, restart the stage or go back to the title; progress is saved.

Game modes
- 1 player. One player: the psycho king alone against the black army, across 64 consecutive stages, with a leaderboard at the end of the run.

Knight: leaps with the lance
Bishop: calls light from the sky
Tips
- Damage falls with distance: let a piece come close before you shoot so you eliminate it in one go.
- Red squares are under attack; stepping on one costs a life, and after losing one the next attack does no damage.
- The cone and damage show before you fire, so check who would be hit before confirming.
- Pick cards that fit together: the catalog groups cards into families such as shot, ammo and defense, and some have an extra effect when you already own others from the same family.
- If the animation slows your pace, use F to speed up or Space to skip.
