Whack-a-Mole

About the game

Whack-a-Mole is a casual reflex game you can play in your browser: nine holes in a 3 by 3 grid, moles that pop up and down fast, and 30 seconds to hit as many as you can before they hide.

Each mole you hit is worth 10 points. As time goes by they show up more often and stay out of the hole for less time, so the second half of a round is much tenser than the start. Missing a click does not take points away. For other quick rounds, see the casual games or Coin Collector.

How to play

1. The round starts by itself and lasts 30 seconds; the remaining time is shown at the top.
2. Click with the mouse, or tap the screen, on any mole that appears in a hole.
3. Each mole you hit adds 10 points and vanishes right away.
4. Moles you miss go back into the hole on their own, and new ones pop up in free holes.
5. When the 30 seconds end, your final score appears; use Restart to play again.

Game modes

• 1 player. One player: a single 30-second round, with no levels or lives, where only the number of moles you hit counts.

Tips

• Keep your eyes on the center of the grid: that way you see all nine holes at once and react faster to any of them.
• At the start the moles stay out longer; use that time to get into a rhythm, because exposure time drops later.
• Do not stop to aim carefully: a miss costs no points, only the time you lose.
